Default Anyone installed an aftermarket oil temp gauge?

If so, where is the temperature sensor/sender mounted? I'm looking to do a project using the OEM sender and gauge from the S130/Z31 turbos and the senders are mounted in the side of the oil pan.

You could always get an oil pan spacer and tap it for sensors OR get a Greddy sandwich adaptor. Just as an option to not mess with the stock stuff.

Does the Greddy sandwich adapter have a threaded port for such a purpose?

i've had it in two locations so far... one at the oil pan and now @ the sandwich adapter before my oil cooler... i couldn't really tell which one provided the more accurate temp reading, but the sandwich plate from Greddy was much easier than the drainplug adapter.

the silver heat/thermal wrapped wire is my temp sensor for my Defi VSD...

So the Greddy piece goes where the oil filter is located?

Yup, it goes between the filter and the engine.

Remember that you can use 1 meter [gauge] and a multiposition rotary switch to monitor multiple sensors sequentially since most things are under 300F. Saves space. Coolant, head, oil, differential, tranny, ps.
Eventually you can gain insite into which one rises first and higher and select that one as the key indicator.

I bought an oil sandwich adapter unit off ebay for around $40 shipped which has the threaded holes that were the exact size for my sensor. It seems to be working great and is cheaper than the GReddy unit. Here is the link. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OIL-F...spagenameZWDVW

It is from Maxspeed Motorsports or something like that. I got it very quickly if I may add.
