Default NISMO Suspension Kit?

Does the NISMO full suspension kit fix the bounce/chop that our Z seems to be prone too? Will it work with the std. 17" wheels and tires? Raceboy, Mr350Z and any others who have tested the kits opinions' are welcome.

Yes, it fixes it. The stock suspension does not have a very good shock spring combo. The stock shocks are too soft for the springs and that is why the car bounces. The Nismo kit seems to have cleared this up nicely.

Raceboy,

That makes sense. The car is bouncing on the springs rather than the shock dampening it first......That is probably my only complaint with the Z. With that fixed I will be very happy. How bout the handling? Is it improved too?

How is the ride on normal/ or bumpy roads. Is this a mod for the daily driver, or for the racer?

Steve,

What's your "to date" impression of the NISMO setup? Easy enough for a daily driver? I LOVED the feel of my Z for the first week I had it when the springs/shocks were extra stiff. Looking to return to that ride quality.

How long did you let the new suspension settle before the alignment and did you get everything into spec to your satisfaction? Did you adjust the camber on the rear, or leave it as is?

Thanks!

The Nismo suspension is acceptable for day to day use, but you probably wouldn't want to go across country with it. The performance increase is well worth the slight decrease in ride quality.

The S-Tune kit comes with new alignment specs and the dealer set it to those specs for me.

Were you able to order the kit through your Nissan dealer or did you have to import it some other way?

I imported it through Japanparts. It was roughly $2000 to my door.

Steve,
What alignment specs were changed and how was it done, especially for the camber?

Thanks

Man, I wonder if Nismo has an intention of establishing themselves more here in the states.

With the MR2 it was great being able to drive 20 minutes to TRD Northwest and get all kinds of Toyota warrantied goodies Nissan/Nismo need to get on board.

Couldn't agree more. Although, honestly, I'm looking outside nismo for most of my parts anyway.

I am still pretty disappointed that we have to look to NISMO and the aftermarket to fix a obvious shock problem. I still feel that Nissan should offer some help towards fixing the problem for the 2003 cars. They should be able to fix the newer cars before they come off the line.
