Default Just received my UR crank pulley..

Just got my UR crank pulley today (won it in a raffle, so it was free hehe). But I'm unsure if I should actually get it installed. I'm so worried, I keep seeing threads about how they wobble and screw things up and when you try to remove em, they break things. Doesn't sound promising. I'm tempted to sell it and get something else instead, but I want people's opinions. Is there really much of a difference when it is installed?

(In case I do sell it, how much would it go for new, unopened?)

ive had my UR crank pulley for 8 months i think and i have no probs. U'll feel a diff when u install it. From my experience, my rpm seemed to rise faster through redline. You might be able to sell this from $150-$200.

I installed mine recently and I blew my engine.

j/k. Do a search, this topic has been beaten to death. Bottom line is no one has been able to prove these pulleys do any damage to this engine.

yeah... lol, the strongest supporters of the "all your engine are belong to us" are the people who never had one, or know someone who knows someone who's cousin had the engine imploded.

Had mine on for around 2 years 20 miles, no issues.

-engine doesn't burn oil
-oil analysis at every 6000 miles flawless

Okay, well maybe I will install it :-P
So if I do, I will need a belt for it (didn't come with one).
I read that I should just 'go to the local auto place and pick one up', but I have absolutely no idea what kind of belt im looking for..

DIY...one of the better mods for the buck. (you'll need a breaker bar to loosen the bolt and don't forget to use a torque wrench)

Not doing it myself, not worth the possible mistakes. I couldn't figure out how to do my own MREV2 or 5/16 spacer, I'm not going to try installing the UR pulley (with the horror stories that I've heard.. though I know I shouldnt worry about that..)

If you decide not to install the pulley, I'll take it off your hands.

just follow the instruction that comes with the pulley, everything will be fine. There is enough room for the breaker bar to get to the pulley bolt w/o removing the radiator. The stock pulley can be pulled out by hand after removing the bolt. i've had mine installed for two years and not a single issue except that the new belts had to be re-tightened after two weeks....good luck. There's nothing more satisfying than knowing a job is done right and you did the job yourself.

Haha you got my business.

And to the poster a little back, the MREV2 and 5/16 spacer were the best mods I've done. My friend with a Legacy GT B-Spec I couldn't beat even after my HKS, popcharger, and high-flows. But the second I got the plenum mods, I could get a car or so on him. Soo...

Yep! You should be able to retain your strut bar with the 5/16" spacer.
