Question Is anyone NOT modifying their Z?

I've had my Z for almost 2 months and, with the exception of a few coats of Zaino, have done absolutely no other modifications.

Am I destined to be the only person with a completely stock Z ?

Do yourselves a favor and at least slip in a K&N air filter. It won't void your warranty and your Z will breathe alot easier!!!

I am not doing any mods until people have tested and made sure that these mods actually work and are reliable. The only thing I probably will do is upgrade the stereo. I have seen so many people add things to their car and they "feel" that it makes it better, but the dyno results show something else.

I probably won't do anything more than a stereo upgrade for a while. I want to make sure it's worth doing before I go and void the warranty.

I would rather "feel" like I am gaining horsepower when I actually am, then "feel" the bass of the heavy speakers.

I was wondering what you had to put down and what payments were on a lease? Sorry to change the subject here and if the subject matter is to personal I understand.

Here's my reply to the original post. I have already modified the stereo...you can find it if you do a search under my name. This Wed. I'm putting in an AEM CAI. Pictures will be posted. Future plans are the Nismo spoiler and a turbo after I see what system proves to be the most reliable.

My first response was to chuckle because this forum is populated by people who love to mod their cars.
My second response was to say that I am another person who does not have a list of mods to do. Then I recalled that I did install a grounding kit. I also took the front seat to an upholstery shop to have the sit fit me better. I also want to get new tires but will wait until the stock tires wear out.

In general I really don't want to do much. I'm doubtful that more hp makes sense for me...this is the fastest car I have ever owned (older Porsches, RX7, Alfas) and It's not so much that I want to see the results of other's mods; its more that I can drive this car a long time before my driving skills will catch up with the car. The car will be driven at autocross/track day events.

After I learn about this car then I think that I will be in a position to know what upgrades, if any, make sense for me.

No mods yet, but I plan on eventually doing the following:

#1. Stoptech 13" front brake kit

Maybe I will do these also:

#2. Nismo S-Tune Suspension
#3. ECU if available
#4. Headers
#5. Ti Exhaust (to save weight). Hopefully a US company will make a less expensive version than those currently avaiable and it will not have all the flame coloring. I want one that looks stock, but sounds a bit louder and maybe gains some HP, too.

I probably won't do anything other than the Stoptech until the warranty runs out (which on my car will probably be some time in 2004)

This is the longest I have ever gone without modding a car I've owned. I'm just going to sit back and wait a bit before I do anything because I am sure the more time the aftermarket has to spend on the car the better the products will be and the lower the prices. Plus, I'm spending most of my money this year on finishing up the restoration on my Buick, so I don't have much money left for the Z.
When I do get around to modding the Z, I will probably go the NA route, intake, exhaust, headers, cams (if available) and ECU, and probably some suspension mods. This will be my daily driver for quite a while, so I don't want to do anything too wild to it so that it is annoying to drive every day. I made the mistake of putting a very loud exhaust on my 240SX (Apex'i N1 w/ HotShot header and hi-flow cat) and it drove me nuts after a week, even with a silencer. I don't want that to happen with the Z.

No mods. Leased car. I don't consider a grounding kit a true mod.

Nothing serious...I like the car just like it is. Well, maybe some new rims.

Default New to mods

I am new to car mods. I am also waiting to see what will happen with the mods later on down the road. I did install the grounding kit. It makes sence, is easy to install, and was only $75 + S+H. And you will notice a difference from the get go. So if you are waiting there is no reason wait for a grounding kit. Get one and you will see.

I'm not modding as well. Waiting for more parts and stats to come out.
