So i went back to the dealer because I also am having a very hard time getting it into 5th gear. The tech told me the car was fine. I completely disagree. It feels like everything is over to the left. 5th gear feels like there is something blocking it. Also 2nd, 3rd and 4th are very notchy. The original trans went in for a 5th gear grind and felt nothing like this one. I only put like 50 miles on this new trans.... I could use some insight from people with trans knowledge or someone who has this problem. Does it need to be broken in or is something else wrong. This was a #CD00009 which was installed
go in and talk to the service manager and tell him to drive your car with you in it.and tell him to shift like you do and see what happens.

i had my trans replaced and got the same thing. had to literally force it into 5th. i waited a little while to see if it would break in or clearance itself after awhile, but didn't get much better. then, i swapped the trans fluid for redline, and it went away completely immediately after that. go figure.

Could it be because it has to be broken in? When I drove a brand new 06 before making my purchase the transmission was very rough.
