Default 3.9 Final drive question

I've searched regarding my question, but have only been able to find bits and peices.

What parts do I need aside from the 3.9 gears temselves in order to swap out my 2003 5AT G35c 3.3 FD?

I was thinking of the central20 3.9. Btw, I have a vortech. Thanks.

I am not sure you want a 3.9 with the 5AT and a supercharger. I have heard of people going with the 3.55 from the 6MT with a 5AT, but not the 3.9 with a 5AT and forced induction.

As for parts you need the ring and pinion, a new crush sleeve, a pinion nut I think it is called and a few gaskets. Most places that sell the ring and pinion have the other things you need. You may also need some shims if you are planning on keeping the stock LSD. I did not need any new shims for mine.

a Vortech + 3.9 is a match made in heaven........

as for what you need with an auto to be honest I'm not sure, because Central 20 only specifies that it works with the MT rear

You will need a new LSD as they are different from the 6-speed units.
At least thats what all my research has led me to believe.

Yeah, I noticed that central20 specifies it's for the 6mt..Is there anything inbetween 3.9 and 3.5? like a 3.7 perhaps? This is all new to me so I'm just doing research now. Is the lsd in the 5at and 6mt different? I didn't know that...does anyone else recommend any other options? I know sentry has done it. Maybe I'll contact him if he doesn't see this

Does the pumpkin include everything?

Yes the pumkin includes everything.
Yes there is a 3.7, contact Jeff @ Performance Nissan.
With the 5at I would (I plan to) go 3.9!

Thanks guys. Exactly what I needed. The only thing I'm concerned about is how quickly 1st gear will run out. As soon as I hit 3k rpm, I need to be ready to shift (no VB upgrade) because after 3k the next thing I know I'm at 6k. I think I am going to try and find a 3.5 pumpkin and then if that's not good enough, get shorter gears. That way, I can fit those gears into the 6MT pumpkin. Thanks again.
