Default *E-manage Ultimate Tuned* Pics and Dynos Inside

Big thanks to Shawn Church @ Church Automotive Testing. I got a great price on tuning and even better results.

He made all of this look very easy. Highly recommended tuner for west coast/socal guys.

My car is actually making more peak HP than his revup with technosquare reflash. That is a testament not only to the EU but also his tuning ability, as well as Tony @ Motordyne due to the success of the MREV2 and 5/16" spacer.

MODS:
JWT Popcharger
MREV2
5/16" spacer
Kinetix High Flow Cats
(Stock Exhaust)

Gains: about 13 HP (dynapack) + lots of midrange torque

And here are the pics, dynos are a couple posts down! Enjoy (I know I will)!

what kind of gains did you get on the tuning alone?

I see a TQ graph, no peak whp numbers. I hate dynapacks as they are "happy" dyno's, but as long as you went in, got a baseline and left with more he did his job and you gained power. Congrats...

Dynos and datalog

Gain about 13 HP at the rotors.

This was done on a dynapack so the numbers are higher than dynojet, etc.

Edit: JEEBUS you guys posted fast. I wasn't even done posting pics yet

I removed the picture of that computer-screen "dyno" because that was in the middle of tuning, he wasn't done yet at that point. I don't want people to get confused...

Better

There was a little hesitation before tuning, and the powerband didn't feel as smooth before tuning. (before tuning the power would seem to come, and go, come, and go.)

The power is definitely there now . Can't wait to do some 1/4 mile runs

Nice... how much did it cost you? I wish I could find a decent tuner around Jax.

drive a couple of hours to ATL and go to Forged Peformance. Some guys including me have driven a lot further to get to Sharif.

Holy Crap Mike! 283 on that dyno is really good. That's quite a bit higher than most 287's I've seen on that machine. Higher than most REVUPS!

Shawn hooked you up!

WOW. I'm definetly buying MRev2+spacer (I'll run 93 octance in the meantime), then picking up a UTEC next month...and having Jeremy (Performance Factory) tune it for me. Hoping for similar gains (13hp/13ftlb torque would be fantastic!!!) I have a nonrevup, with similar mods! I cant wait!!!!!

I'd love cams, if only it wasn't like 12 hrs of labor.

I don't want headers, too loud...this is my daily driver.

It took him 1.5 hours to tune, which equals $240 at this shop.

Depending on your EMS, mods, etc, your time required to tune may vary.

I'd imagine the UTEC would take longer to tune (not sure though) because the EU windows interface is quite nice and friendly, with instant feedback on the dyno.

Just to be clear... the 13hp number is from a dynapack. I don't know how much the gain would look like on a dynojet or other dyno, but clearly, none of the other dynos would show 13hp (dynapack seems to read the highest)

Also, to be clear... Going from stock to MREV2+spacer, I made about 13hp (dynapack again, but that was done on a different dyno, not the one used for tuning).

So MREV2+spacer gave 13hp, then I added popcharger, and high flow cats, with tuning, to get another 13hp.

Definitely more than I was expecting...

Seriously Tony, I think we were both surprised. As I mentioned my car dyno'd higher than his revup with technosquare reflash, which is just insane...

Also a significant portion of the gains came from using cipher for the +2 degrees of timing. For some reason the cipher advancing timing did a "better job" than the EU at advancing timing.

By the way, Shawn told me about some kind of throttle body mod that gave him about 5hp... if it's cheap I might do it.

He said it makes the throttle body resemble a rifle barrel or something.

I also have tentative plans to go back and do a higher octane map. But I don't think we're going to squeeze much more power out of this motor (gut instinct talking) with the race fuel. Maybe 3-5 hp...

I will probably ask this question in any thread that is about gains made by tuning with piggy-backs until we get the definite answer: won't the factory ECU equalize the gains by it's long-term fuel trim?
