^well, those are the first steps!
However, OC testing sux...

Make sure and check the oil level yourself, before heading to the stealership..

Best of luck!

Dropped off my Z again, had my lawyer contact Nissan Motors and they are going to repair the car to perfect working order and give me $2k for the trouble or do an even swap for a 2008 with no other financing or anything, I really dont care what option they give me as long as I have a running Z!

So is it true that the v2's are more sluggish, less power than the v1s?

Just a quick update as I do not get over here very often.

20mm down since dealership claimed it was full 2600 miles ago.

I have just over 14000 now on the v2. I can say that it is better, but certainly does not fix the issue.

It also appears to be getting worse with age as after 4000 miles last time it was down merely 12mm.

As always, I'll keep you updated until I trade the damn thing in for something else.

Yiks!! This V2 seems to becoming a loser too. Baffeling that some are tip top and some no better than the V1's or oem factory, like mine.
Once again it looks like it's a roll with the dice if you get a winner or not on this OC issue.
Sadly, I have to say this is probably going to be my last Nissan product I ever purchase. This issue has truely become a royal pita.
Wonder what Nissan has planned for us Infiniti folks and our G's. Rumor has it February 08.............TSB and a V3??? Third's a charm or 3 strikes err out!

I start OC testing after the 1st...just so I can be officially denied by Infiniti on my consumption of 1qt (24mm)/2500mi on my oem factory rev-up with 25K on the clock.

Try an '07 or '08. I personally will never buy another Nissan product though

Default Started OC Testing

Official OC testing started today with Dealer. They want me back in 1000mi.

Stated my consumption I've had for the past 2 years and consumed 2qts in the past 4700 miles. They said it's still normal according to Infiniti standards

Mentioned my consumption qualifies me for replacement with Nissan's TSB for the 350Z's. Dealer wasn't aware of that TSB.

Saw a VQ pulled and sitting on the ground in their shop. They've done 4 replacements with one being from a M45...hmm interesting...a V8 that has OC issues.

Got oil sample from my 0w-30 Amsoil for UOA analysis. I will be interesting to see those results. They were fine with using their 5w-30 Syntec for testing.

Hopefully a TSB from Infiniti will be released by the time I'm done with testing :crossing fingers:

edit-
Oh...they were cool about showing me my dip stick level at full (not over full) after service was done.
Now I know they're not pulling a fast one on testing as I've heard from other members that happening to.

So I got a call from the dealer today, and they didnt listen to me when I told them and came to the same conclussion that I had told them from the get go! that the engine was not put together properly.
When I piked up the car the first time I let the tech know that the flywheel was not adjusted properly and thats why it was feeling sluggish but they didnt listen and after 4days in the shop they call me and tell me that! *@#& idiots!
thats what was giving error codes and setting the check engine light off. I dont understand how certified nissan mechanics couldnt figure that out and i could! bunch of idiots!

I still filed with the bbb and have a lawsuit being prepared as we speak. They are still processing my request for the cash or a new car depending on when I get my Z back and if I want to keep it or not.

Dont get me wrong, I love the look and drive of the car, traded in my BMW 545i for the Z, because of the performance and mods available and still feels its a great car as long as you get the one that doesnt have issues.

took the car in today for an oil change and told them abt my oil level. they said it was fine, which it technically was but barely according the to the chart. had i brought in the car 80 miles sooner it wouldve been in the red, but it wasnt. so new oil (chevron 5w30?, that they use, no synthetic yet.) and i guess ill go from there and start my own oc testing and if it meets the tsb then ill complain again. but doesnt look like theyll do anything unless its drastic, ie just like it was before the tsb.

took my car in for an oil change. According to them it was only a half court low after 1500 miles. Test drove a Nismo and wow the thing I noticed the most is how high the oil pressure was.

Just a quick update for you folks. I've had my V2 for about 3 months nonw, little less than 4k on it, and it is consuming oil just like the V1. Taking it back to the dealer to start this whole damn process over again. Thanks for the TSB, that's all the ammo I need. Good luck to you all.

They have done 2 swaps for me already and the problem persists. Heri is the man but Nissan does not have a solution so it doesn't matter how good the dealership is. I am starting the legal process next week,

Finished my OC Test yesterday the Shop foreman will be contacting nissan next week he said getting the approval shouldn't be any problem, then once he gets the approval they'll call me back with a install date... the shop foreman at this nissan dealership claims that he's done 4 V2 replacement installs and all 4 cases have worked out no OC so we'll see.........
