That is good news! It seems that Nissan will sit on their hands until they see you are serious.

There's no charge. They just measure and then top it off.

Nissan has a great customer avoidance system for sure.

The BBB Autoline is a free service. Also, once you file your Final Repair Attempt order with the State Attorney General's office, you will get some mailings from lawyers that will also not cost you anything.

I'm not sure if anyone has ever had experience with these lawyers, but I had 3 contact me so far.

i have a 06 manual base model. and i am having this low oil problem. any suggestions will be appreciated. when my car had 3600 miles on it i started to hear this weird engine noise when i reved the car between 2000-3000 rpm. I took my car to the dealer and the dealer stated that i was low on oil by 2qt. He told me to come back again after 1000 miles for another test. after 1000 miles he stated that the engine was low by 1qt. and then he told me to come back after 1000 miles. after 1000 miles the oil was low by .5 qt. then he told me to come back after 1000 miles. i have passed another 1000 miles and now the engine is starting to make that weird noise, and a engine oil pressure warning light is appearing on my gauge... by the way my car only has 6300 miles on it right now.... and this problem started occuring at 3600 miles.... my question is

how many times do i need to go back until nissan will try to do anything about my problem????

do i need to constantly go back every 1000 miles and for how long???

what is that engine oil pressure warning light???

i am sick and tired or going to the dealer every 1000 miles..... what can i do to fix this low oil problem so that i can start enjoying my car and not worrying about the next 1000 miles to get a low oil consumption test.... any help will be apprecaited....

is there anything i can do with the lemon law or something... cause it seems like i really bought a lemon...

Start by reading the owners manual. There is a section on checking oil. When the engine makes abnormal noises or the light illuminates because you are low on oil is to late. Nissan also provides a problem escalation procedure. I don't remember which booklet in the owner's package has it- waranty information, lemon laws, or general operation.

Make sure the dealer documents all your issues and keep your copies. You can't hold them to anything not written.

I would suggest reading the 47 pages on this topic.
Which I have done, since I own a rev-up engine (2006 with manual transmission).
People have had engines replaced & 1 (that I know of) has had their Z repurchased through the lemon law procedure.
I currently have only 1200 miles on my 2006.... with no oil consumption.... yet.
Nor any problems....yet.
Hopefully you will find, as I have, the 47 page topic very informative and helpful.
I really like my Z and appreciate the information provided through this forum.
Thanks to those that keep me & others up-to-date on this topic and others.

I was at the stealership today. Car was 1/2 quart low at 1300 miles. Nissan techline opened up a case # and states they are working on a tech bullentin. I hope they are, although this might be there way of avoiding the Lemon Law.

I have only gone about 450 miles since I topped it off. I am waiting till 1000 to check. I may be driving to Charlotte tomorrow, so that would cover it.

As from what I have seen with the new engine, it is not conclusive enough for me to say yay or nay.

Funny about the dyno. I went to get it done and the dyno would not work. In the end, it turned out the dyno broke. Last I knew was that the Performance Factory was still waiting for a new dyno. Bad luck just keeps folllowing my car.

Jeremey at Performance Factory did mention though that rev-ups consistently get around 239 or so with a few getting up into the 240s. This was with a DynoJet.

RBLover has a 251.

I was at the stealership today. Car was 1/2 quart low after 1300 miles. They topped it off and I guess I'm waiting for a fix. According to my tech they stopped shipping the new engines because it didn't fix the problem. So if they can't attempt to fix I guess im screwed. I'll just have to wait it out unless these lawyers can do something.
