Default 350Z Turbo?

I have a question for all of you. I have been looking at all of the new cars that are coming out here, especially from Japan, and there appear to be, in performance 0-60 and ¼ times, Z beaters. We have had a lot of discussion about aftermarket turbo, superchargers, and other performance mods. Nissan has claimed that they want to keep cost down and in doing so does not want to produce a turbo or a twin turbo 350Z. How much would you guys be willing to pay for a turbo or twin turbo Z, and what kind of numbers (ie BHP, 0-60 ect.) would be acceptable?

A turbo Z might be faster, but it seems to me that the best quality of the car is its very linear torque curve, which would be shot to hell by such an addition.

Of course, I didn't buy my Z to drag race with anyone else, or at least with anyone else with whom I'd have a chance of losing...

I agree with you, mark. I have never driven a car with better throttle response than the Z. I owned a turbo car with great torque and drivability and the Z is a better car that responds in any situation. You can always catch a turbo in a weak response mode, no matter how well engineered it is. I have yet to see the Z stumble when called upon to rev, and that is saying a lot.

Right now, the Z's only weakness is its suspension for me, not all of the car's potential can be used by myself and I'm no racing driver. But, WOT is not a confidence builder with the present suspension. 3/4s is fine in a straight line, but the control is not there for me at higher throttle positions.

Obviously, I haven't driven all the turbo cars out there and would like to hear how others feel.

What does 3/4s mean? Please excuse the ignorance.

I believe he means 3/4 of the throttle. (i.e. running with the throttle at 75% of its capacity)
