Default Oil level below "L" level

Guys,

Just picked up a used roadster last night from a volvo dealership. The car was a trade in from a previous owner.

Anyways, this morning I was checking the oil level and it was a tick below the "L" mark.

Any concern I should have? I drove a good 60 miles last night and it was fine. I will drain the oil tonight and change it myself to see how much oil is remaining.

Car had on 13k miles.

If this is an 06 you need to check out the thread on 06 car w/oil consumption problems. If not, top of your oil and check it in 700mi.

If you can, try to find out what kind of oil they used. Also do a leakdown test to make sure compression is okay.

I drained the oil last night and it looks like it had a good 4+ quarts left.

I put some mobil 1 synth oil in it. I really don't know what oil they used.

I disagree with topping it off. Just do a full change. Many questions about oil changes are answered in the top 100 questions thread.

If going synthetic, I would greatly prefer motul 300v over mobil1

Well said, an oil change is always better. I just meant he should get the oil at a designated level and monitor it.

I use Mobil 1 in the Z. But my 96 Infiniti g20 with over 100k miles it uses Quaker State full Synth. The g20 doesnt use a drop of oil. But the Z uses some. Maybe Quaker is better?
