Default Need help - 5th gear

To make this story short. Today they replaced my clutch/pressure plate and a bearing. After that I was driving my car and the 5th gear did not feel right. I went back to the dealership - but they didnt have a Z to compare and told me it is normal...

So could you please verify this for me:

If you push your shift **** all the way to the right and then push it up does it easly go to 5th. Mine use dto do this - now it wont. If I do the same (push it all the way to the right) and then push down it easly goes to 6th. Now if I want to put my Z in 5th I need to make a little move to the right and then up. If I go all the way to the right it will not go to 5th....

Thanks guys.

I hate Nissan dealership. I had a clutch repalced like a year ago and it started squeaking again. They changed it today and said that the previous dealer did not lube it properly and the rust (on the pressure palte and bearing) was causing the squeak!!!

I am calling NNA tomorrow - cause I have been like 20 times with this stupid clutch already.... before it used to squeak - now it shifts hard!!!

If you are talking about not being able to go to fifth gear because it feels as if it gets stuck and the only way to go to fifth is to move it slightly to the left then you just need you adjust your guideplate simple fix. Just take the shift **** off then center piece that has the climate controls by putting you fingers under the end facing the trunk hatch( put your finger tips on the **** boot and bend them down under the plastic piece and pull up) take the center piece out diconnect climate control then there wil be a fluffy white cone shped piece of fluss take the ribbed rubber off unscrew the four screw loosen up the guide plate and move it to the left and re tighten. This is if you cant get into fith gear because of the guide plate. open it up and check it out if thats not the problem sorry.

all other gears are ok - except 5th. Plus it was OK before the repair - and the tech did not adjust anything...

I just called NNA and told them about this.

The lady asked me what I would like Nissan to do? I told ther that I want to get a credit toward a new car purchase...

They are supposed to call me back tomorrow.

+1 Mine does it too, and after powershifting it actually gets stuck. I've been meaning to fix it soon. After a transmission replacement those should should also adjust the plate but usually they don't.

my first repair was done at continental nissan
the second was done at kelly nissan

I went to continetal nissan today to check other 6MT Z (kelly nissan did not have a z on their lot) - and my 5th gear is not working properly. If I push it all the way to the right and then up it will not let me shift to the 5th (and it should).

I called kelly nissan - but the service advisor was not in today.

I will be waiting for a phone call from NNA and Kelly Nissan tomorrow.
