My understanding is that this is not at all the same as the std. Royal Purple stuff, but I really am not an oil expert. I simply asked the machinist what to get, he told me this, so I got a case At ~$10.00 a quart + the $16.00 WIX filter, I think I liked my Valvoline sponsorship deal better (oil was free!), but what can ya do lololol

I am using Motul now in the tranny and rear - tranny is a bit harder to shift now that its cold out with the Motul vs what I previously ran (which I cant even remember!)
yikes, i guess i'll be trying the redline stuff for the tranny.

I hate my Redline tranny oil in the cold weather as well. It's really crappy until warm and it seems to take forever to get warm. I have to drive atleast 20+ miles before it feels good.

Wow--so many opinions back and forth, especially with the oil analysis.

One vendor says for NA motul 8100 is a stepup from mobil1, another member says the mobil1 is better than the motul 8100.

Shariff, you stated you use motul 8100 on N/A cars? Would you say the motul 8100 is indeed a better choice than the mobil1 for dd N/A vq's?
