Default Shop Installed Clutch and Cant Shift Into Gear WTF

My 350 has been at a local shop the entire day for a JWT clutch install...

After 12 hours the mechanic called me to say that after he installed the clutch it wouldnt shift into gear or soemthing like that. He said he was gonna take it all apart tomorrow morning, and he suggested that the JWT clutch is defective.

WTF happened?? I really dont feel like battling between these guys and Performance Nissan about a defecive JWT clutch...

The mechanic is supposidly one of the best in socal too...hmmmm

I have news for you: Your mechanic is not one of the best in socal. If it takes him 12 hours to install a clutch, WRONGLY, he's not much of a prize.

I think the car wont get into gear for 1 of the 2 reasons "thats out of experiance" it happened to me.

a) he needs to re adjust the whole gear i cant realy explain but when i got my car 1,2,3,4 ok 5,6 r not ok they r there but not where thry should be a lil off to the left so when i tried 5th and it didn't go in i thought i had no 5th snd then i kept on trying to get of to the left untill i found it.

b) it might realy easily b that the cluch line needs bleeding ie. it has some air in the line.

Thats all i can think of good luck

what did they use as the release bearing?

was it installed where?

Is this on a Z32 or Z33?

Did you just have your Z32 towed in here?

I have seen this before, they installed the clutch plate in backwards.A clutch being defective would have nothing to do with it not going into gear. Thats just their set up to double bill you labor for "THEIR" F up.

Well, we agreed on the price beforehand, so Im not paying anything more than that.

I got a call back tonight, its finally done, but he says that there is a check engine light for the crank sensor, and im not sure, but I think he was saying check engine lights are normal with aftermarket flywheel. I responded to him that it will throw a crack sensor angle code if its not aligned properly, and he assured me it was aligned properly...

He said he was going to reset the check engine light, but it may come on again.

He said its good to go, but I have a feeling its not...sigh...Ill find out tomorrow morning, I hope to god this thing is set up properly....is there anyway I can test it out to make sure the install was done perfectly??

Thx for the responses guys!!!

Hey Jason, its for a z33, I came in and bought the jwt clutch from you guys on wednesday...the throw out bearing looked just like the other tob I have from my clutchmasters kit. It was installed at DoriGarage in Gardena by Alex. They bought out Brainstorm, and from the people I have talked to, they know what they are doing and Alex is a very good mechanic, it doesnt make any sense to me...

As far as the time thing, they are just opening their new shop, and the power went out a few times, also, for some reason they were having issues with the jwt throw out bearing, so they had to redo it all over again, and i guess the second time around there is now a check engine light

maybe they smakced the CAS and damaged it.

I have had no problems with my ACT prolite.....and I haven't heard of the JWT affecting the CAS either.
