Is the oil filter for are car small. I just ordered some oil and filters from amsoil. The filter looks small, but I have never seen the size of are oil filter. Is there anyone here who uses this oil filter, #ea012. I got it from there website, they said its the right one. Just curious.

 

yes they are smaller in length than average oil filters!

 

The stock filter is a 65F00 from nissan, but it will take the 9E000 which is a little longer. The 65F00 is small,not sure on the amsoil num.

 

the vq motor in the 350z shares the same oil filter as the murano, newer pathfinder, xtrail, quest.....which is a fairly small one (15208-65f00), but will take the taller filter used in many other smaller nissan motors too (15208-9e000)

 

You can use the 9E000 filter in your Z. It cost the same as 65F00 and has better internal design (metal end-caps) Google the topic and you can get more info. You can also use aftermarket filters like Purolators and WIX spec'd for the previous generation Maxima (VQ35DE)
