Did a search but it left me a little more confused. I want to purchase a LSD system for my auto G. The best option for me would be to get one either of a 350Z or G. I am looking for something that will give a performance increase over the stock setup of the AT G35S.
Now what I want to know is should I be going with 3.3 or the 3.5 of the MT and AWD G35? And with the 3.3 what is the difference between locking and non locking? Does non locking mean the car has no lsd system?

I also notice that the FX35 comes with a locking 3.6 diff, would that work on the G35. I have driven FX35 with this diff and it made the car feel awkward.

Dude, you may be mixing it all up. You are throwing final drive into a dif question. Seperate the 2 and you can get a more accurate answer.

I realy am not familiar on what you would need to do for a dif on an AWD vehicle, but for the final drives you have to keep the front and rear the same.

 

Just wondering that is all. But yeah I guess I got the wrong stuff off the internet. Could some one clear things up.

Get a 1.5 way. good balance there. or go for big money and get a carbon one. i like cusco.

Cusco makes a diff specific for AT equipped cars - not stocked in the US but easy to get

it is a 2 way differential that is also adjustable to 1.5 way (has an internal cam that gets rotated 45 degrees) - the adjustment can be done with the diff installed. Also adjustable lockup like all cusco diffs from 60, 80, 100 % - we recommend 60% for the smoothest operation

 

would that cause any issues with the factory VDC system? I just want something simple that will give me some improvement.

Newb here interested in shopping for a 350Z and wanting to educate myself a bit on the rear diff. Thanks to above, I've learned a bit, but still have some questions ...

Question #1-- Is Nissan's "viscous diff" fun to drive as it is? If you're having fun at the edge of traction (but in control) on an exit ramp, can you mash the gas pedal when you want and let it get loose on exit... or if the turn tightens up can you lift some and let the diff bring the rear around a bit? I'm used to BMWs, and tired of their yuppy persona. Love the look of the 350Zs but after reading some, I'm thinking I took the rear diffs of BMWs for granted. I hope a 350Z viscous diff doesn't feel like my pick-up! (But if it does, let me know and then I'll be prepared for a $1000 mod.)

Also, thanks for the wikipedia link above... but I know wikipedia could be inaccurate. It says a viscous diff only last 60,000 miles. I'm thinking of buying a used 350z, so:

Question #2- How long do the viscous diffs last on a 350Z before needing a new... something-or-other?
