Default 3.91 gear????

I went through enough searches and I can't find anything on the gears offered by 350EVO/Z1 Performance and drag racing.

I have no doubt the gears would hold up to daily driving. How about repeated drag strip launches and powershifts? How about autocrossing or road racing? Can they handle the stress.....

Thanks for the response. I have no doubt they are great for street driving. My question is, how do they handle repeated drag strip launches or autocrossing/road courses?

Maybe the people from Z1 or 350evo will chime in.

I know what you are thinking, i'm going to guess that you are a f-body guy. The freakin stock 10 bolts are ok, but once you throw a 3.73 and especially a 4.10 in there they break b/c of the gear having less contact. You have to upgrade to a bigger(12bolt) rear to get the beefier gears in it to last at the track.

I would also like to know if there has been any problems with the evo3.9 or central20 gears...thanks.

I have hundreds of 1/4 mile runs and 0-60 launches and 60 plus track days on my stock lsd and 3.9 final drive. It holds up very nicely. I was one of the first to do this mod, here's the original review from years ago. Part 1 & 2 is out there somewhere too.

The 350EVO gears are good. They were originally built for road racing. I have had them for more than a year with no problems. I hear the Cetral 20 gears are good too and they are cheaper. When 350EVO came out with theirs they were the only ones on the market.

75mph
partly depends on what the diameter of your size tires is though so can vary +/- 1-2mph
