Default More burning oil questions...

I read all the burning oil posts I could find but still have some questions. My ride is a 2004 G35 6MT, only mods are the 1/2" motordyne spacer (3 months old) and z-tube/pop-charger (couple years old).

Like others, my oil pressure light would come on when stopping short or turning hard. I took it to the dealer and I had only 2 quarts left since my last oil change (5k miles). They flushed the oil, refilled and did a compression test and found no problems. Today I had the 1k mile check and I'm currently burning a little more than .5 quart/1000 miles.

Does the way I drive affect how much oil is burning? Would changing from Mobil 1 Synthetic 5w30 to a thicker synthetic or back to regular oil help? I can't see getting a change or adding a quart every couple thousand miles.

Some people said they have gotten new engines out of this, my question is what was the damage and how bad was it for them to warranty the new engine?

How do I know the damage hasn't been done already? What are the signs of damage I should look for?

Yes, the way you drive affects it. If you're over 3500RPM it'll burn more oil to my understanding.
my car had 2 CUPS of oil when my first light came on.. .. I also burn about 1.5 Quarts per 1000 miles.
..
There is a TSB out for this problem and there's going to be a recall.

I wasn't able to find the TSB on g35driver.com or infinitihelp.com, do you have a link?

if anything.. u would want to drive the car harder and not baby it so much.... if you have a shop or the right tools to remove your head to check the piston seals.... its most likely your seals not gettin proper lubing, causing it to burn oil the way it is.. i had the same problem in my 06mt rev-up and nissan just bought me a new motor ....
