I do think that JmanZ said that his connections told him that NNA would make a statement regarding the release of Nismo products through dealers in late April. For what it is worth, my local dealership said maybe as late as September. Who knows? Unfortunately we have to just sit and wait. I have decided to start modding with wheels and tires only because of this.

does anyone know if they are going to import all of their products. I am interested in suspension, sway bars, and Turbo and/or SC if they will have it.

This is great news. I am a fan of factory made mods!

Do you have an idea as to what would be included for each?

Default When?

4agze:

Month after month, rumors keep going around regarding NISMO and what will be offered in the USA. I hope you can answer these questions. I want to mod my Z more but cannot really proceed without knowing the following:

1. Any word when Nissan dealers in the USA will begin stocking NISMO products? I am ready to buy suspension s if price is right. Some people say April, others May. Are you guys being told or are you in the dark like everyone else?

2. Will NISMO offer a TT or SC or both? Any release dates on those? Any spec's or hints of specs? Will a warranty be offfered?

Jeff

FRom what my sources at NNA have told me their will be no turbo kit or supercharger kit offered. They are concentrating on NA mods such as suspension, exhaust, body kit, cams, flywheel, ecu and so on. No forced induction. Not sure on pricing, but will probably be a little cheaper maybe not. Nissan likes to make money. Look at TRD stuff. It is very expensive.

my 2 cents...

thanks,
Greg

Word has it they are going to tour around with a 350Z TT and G35 TT on the race circuit to show it off (show it off, not race it). What is the point of that if they are not going to offer it?

When I see it I will believe it I think fits, but I don't think Nissan will spend the money on develping the kit for sale in the USA when they can use the V8 in the same engine bay. It is more cost effective to put the a motor that is used in more than one platform. Look at our motor. Don't forget Nissan is still in debt. They almost went belly up a few years ago. They also lost a lot fo money maintaince wise with the Z32 from what I was told. If we see it I will be very happy, but I'm not counting on it.

just my 2 cents.

thanks,
Greg

Wink

all i "COULD" say sir is that we will be stocking up on nismo parts by may according with my manger. as for the TT or the SC. when my manager went to the nismo convention last two weeks, they said the forced induction system will be delayed for awhile. and there still is the question if it is
gonna be twin turbo or supercharged. for some reason they are
debating STILL on the two options we have. as for the warranty for the forced induction system, im not really sure but i'll try to squeeze some more info from my manager about it.

Parts manegers from dealers around here tell me much the same as you are saying from info they got at the Las Vegas show. I know from talking to master techs that Nissan had a TT version of the VQ 35 when they were getting training up in LA. If they use it in the Z or other cars (Skyline) will be seen but i know they do not build it just to play around. They are thinking of using it somehow. Selling it after market is a win-win situation. They are not over pricing the Z but providing a high profile option for enthusist like many on the forum. As long as the boast is low, the durability should be fine.

Not really. My MR2 Spyder was loaded with TRD parts, which I feel were actually a good value.

even if dealers offer nismo parts...aren't they gonna jack the prices up real high??? your gonna have to sell your left nut to afford it...then the other to get it installed from the dealer so they can warranty it...maybe it's gonna depend on the dealer?

it is true, its gonna be marked up a bit higher, but at least it will be within warranty. IF your cars like about 15 years old like my
MR2sc, then go ***** out! right? and i am trying to talk to my manager about the prices to lower it so it can be competitive with other shops. hey super black! why tsk, tsk? i tried a couple Z's already.
