Default FD swap question - Jeebus would want you to help me

Hi all,

I may have the opportunity to get my hands on a 3.5 FD w/ vlsd (whole pumpkin) from a '05 Z. And I would like to swap that onto my '04 Z. I've read this thread https://my350z.com/forum/engine-and-drivetrain/208582-people-who-have-swapped-pumpkins-please-chime-in.html
But I just want to confirm that in order for the swap to work. I all need to change out are the companion flange and the oil seal? Also, is that a labor intensive job? (ie. Am I gonna have to pay out the **** for it).

Thanks in advance,

If your swapping the pumpkins it should be a straight swap nothing extra needed. I didn't need anything extra for mine. It's not to bad if you have the right tools. The pumpkins are very heavy though. Did mine in about an hour but this was with a lift, stands, etc.

You shouldn't have any problems on a straight swap. My issue came about from rebuilding the '03 pumpkin to use on the '05 with a combination of parts. If you read the full thread you'll see everything worked out and we identified the cause of the initial issue.
