Sent a sample of my last oil (Mobil1, K+N oil filter) that had 7,500 miles on it to Blackstone, they said I can easily go 8,500 on the next change. I don't see 10,000 miles on synthetic oil being a problem for me, but I drive 100 mostly highway miles each day. YMMV

The 7.500 is just a contract obligation between you and Nissan.
You don't want them to have a legal excuse to terminate their end because of something you did or didn't do!
Especially important for those that buy the extended service contract to 100k.

The only time an additive might be used is to fixup/modify a sythetic oil that might be low on Zinc. Zinc has been reduced in modern oils due to the propensity to degrade cats after long use [After 100k].
The steps necessary to maintain as near new performance on a 300,000 mile engine are very different from most owners who sell ~~ 60,000 miles.
The 2nd and 3rd or 4th owners might thank you for your diligence.

Check out the article I posted above before purchasing any oil additive, because it is true that many have false claims giving the good ones a bad reputation.
