Are you guys with short throws using the stock ****, or has anyone tried it in combination with a lower profile ****? I'm using a Razo RA117 ****, which is very short and extremely massive (1.1 lbs)... just haven't been able to pull the trigger on a short throw yet. This **** made a significant difference in throw, and the mass of it also smooths things out quite a bit. But in the back of my mind I'm still thinking short throw...
just besure to align the gold bracket correctly when installing the B&M shifter.. this is a majority of the complaints about getting into 5th and 6th.

mine rattles a little under heavy WOT.. but so does pretty much everything else in my car, i got used to it.
i am using nismo gt ti ****... however i would recommend the gt **** in rubber.
also be aware of some of the knock off B&M shifters on ebay, and early generation B&M authentic shifters.. the metal piece that guides the shifter into R sometimes rubs off.. the latest generation shifter should have the one seen here on the right.

even though the Zs come with a stock short throw, it still has alot of play... and vibrations.. me like most others like quick easy shifting with no vibrations and road feel. so i went with the Rogue Eng... short throw and man is it a big difference.. it really doesnt lower the height.. but it is so smooth. this shifter with a new ****... will amaze you... just my thoughts and opinions for u gear heads..
Just be aware that the Rogue requires use of the standard plastic pivot housing which allows for considerable play at the end of the shifter. The B&M has a beefy, machined pivot housing in which all play can be tuned out. (See my prior posts on how to install the B&M). Regarding snapping the B&M shaft--you'd have to be a gorilla to do this.
Just curious--has anyone used a heavy shift **** with the B&M to reduce any vibration at higher revs? How has that affected shifting feel?
Thanks--

the new guide for going into reverse looks like it would be alot better then the stock one as when i was installing my short throw i notice how the guide isnt that great on the stock one or the new one because its the same guide, that new guide does look like it would make a big difference going into 5th and 6th and R, im getting a shorter **** tom to see how it feels with the new short throw really curious as to how the shorter **** will feel as opposed to the stock ****
went to a round **** feels alot better then a **** thats up-right, im actually using a **** from a 06 mini cooper with some mod, i saw on ebay tho a **** made by monsterknobs looks nice and they say it stays cool in summer and warm in the winter, thinking about getting it, but yeah short throw with round **** deffinately better then stock
I got the Rogue SS in this weekend, literally took 30 min with 5 lifting the car with my geriatric jack. 10 min trying to get the bolt off from under the car(20 or 30 sec if i had a ratchet) and another 10 min trying to get the shifter into the new socket. It was a very easy install. I have been everywhere in all gears and rpms up to 145 a lot this weekend and haven't heard any noise from the shifter. Throw is shorter and very solid feeling, i love it. Did two 1 to 2 shifts WOT and had no problems, missed 3rd (at WOT) one time out of about 15. I have the Top Secret shift ****, it feels great. I'm keeping my stock shifter for a while just incase something goes wrong though, no complaints thus far though.
I have the one in black.

I know most of the aftermarket short shifters really create a shorter throw but just a shorter shift **** does not.
What makes a short shifter a short shifter is that the distance from gear to gear is shortened. With a shorter **** the height at the top is shortened so your hand moves less distance but this doesnt really speed up your shifting like a true short shifter does. Ive had short shift kits that didnt lower the height of the **** or shifter AT ALL, they just relocated the connection to the gear lever, or whatever that is called, creating a shorter distance between each gear.
How is that top secret **** though? Does it get hot?
