Default Could this really happen?

To make a long story short the clutch is blown, the dealer said they would cover under warranty at 19000 miles. Now they are backing out because of four small hot spots on the flywheel. Ok now, according to the dealer the four small hotspots cause the clutch to shatter. The two hot spots are less than an inch long and not even a centemeter wide. The clutch is shattered, (lots of rips and tears) and the pressure plate has barely any wear and tear on it. I have pics but they are too big for the site. From the description can anyone tell me is it possible for these for these little hot spots to cause my clutch from going to no slipping one day to be blown(shattered) the next?

if there was no slipping at any point the only thing i could think of is that there was some huge abuse on the care that just caused it to go or it's just a factory defect. either way i wouldnt think it would be because of the hotspots. the hot spots would just indicate some possible abuse in the past

So the hot spots most likely couldnt have caused this? This is what I believe and Im going to ask other shops in the area since I have pictures of it. But if anyone on here thinks they know please let me know.
