I remember reading somewhere on this forum that the first oil should be with regular oil, but starting with the second you should switch to full synthetic? is this accurate? is 5,000 miles time to switch to synthetic?
Yeah, regular oil during the break in. Then synthetic if you want after that. You'll get opinions all over the spectrum on how often to change your oil. I use the rule of thunb that there is no such thing as *too* often.
Reg = 3,000
Synth = 4,000 to 5,000.

i changed after 15k. i read it's typical to switch to synthetic at 10k. i've gone 3k miles on synthetic and the oil was still good. i'm goin 5k on this interval per blackstone's recommendations.
Dont forget most synthetics are good for over 6000 mile sbetween change, the higher quality syns are good for 15k. Point is dont waste your money still changing oil every 3k
