Anyway, checked the oil levels and tested it with the clutch pushed in and let out. The service manager told me that the Z's are pretty noisy at idle and not to worry. If the noise gets worse they told me to bring it back in. The car has about 700 miles on it now. Going to continue to monitor it and see how things go.

I can tell you that as the car is getting more miles on it things seem to be working a lot smoother (clutch, transmission, etc.).
I hear a noise coming from the tranny it seems, it sounds like driveshaft vibration, but thats just a guess. Since i don't have a stock exhaust i thought it was that, but after checking numerous times under the car.. i know its coming from the drivetrain.

Well the dealer is correct, the Z's tranny isn't very quiet at all.
Vibration's and some rattling is normal, I have owned 2 Z's, a 05 and 06.
It's the same thing, weird rattling around idle or low RPMs sounded like
stock exhaust to me and then the tranny does also make odd sounds if your
new to the Z scene, its nothing to worry bout. I do advise to keep an eye on the oil level as the 06 VQ's seemed to have an issue with oil consumption.
