You have the stroke wrong on the VQ, it's 81.4mm. 86mm stroke makes 3.7L

They need to introduce direct injection on the new VQ. It'd be able to take 11.5:1 compression and bump the power atleast 15hp. :-D

No worries. I don't suppose you could find the connecting rod length on the Toyota engine? The VQ's is 144mm. It would be nice to compare piston velocities.
Since we are this bored.

Dang, I didn't know the 2GR-FSE is 11:8:1 compression... can you imagine the new VQ37 in the G37 having 11:8 compression with direct injection? 350 HP for sure...

They could, but it would cost more. American V6s are usually econo cars made for good mpg and cheap prices.

Plus V8s have more potential.

The 08 Caddy CTS 3.6 DOHC makes 300hp with direct injection. Not sure what the compression is but you can bet it's way lower than 11:8:1 !
