Default JWT clutch = Exedy Stage 1? / JWT Flywheel = Findanza?

Just started searching around, and these seem to be very popular combos.

I've heard that the Exedy Stage 1 clutch kits are just rebranded and sold under the JWT name? Both organic clutch discs.

Also heard that the Fidanza aluminum flywheels are rebranded and sold under the JWT name as well. Both aluminum with steel friction plate.

Any truth to either of these "rumors?"

hmm... I would like to know too. If there is a way to save money on a clutch and flywheel combo, then I will go the cheaper route.

I do know the JWT clutch disc is an excedy and its the same disc in the wrx sti. The 300zx clutch is supposed to fit the jwt flywheel.

I saw a post where they said the JWT clutch had an exedy logo on it. Just trying to figure out if it's actually the same as the Exedy Stage 1, or if JWT sourced some Exedy parts and have it built to their own individual spec.

It does have an excedy logo on it. My friend and i compared it to his sti clutch when they were out of the cars they even had the same number on the disc.

how much cheaper is it to just buy the Findanza flywheel and exedy clutch stage 1 compared to the jwt clutch and flywheel combo?

just saying, Exedy makes clutches for other people, OEM (03 nissan clutch)s and such. I wouldn't be surprised. but I am sure they can custom tailor a spec to a company if they want. I thought GTM was having specialty clutches made, no?

Honestly, I think it's about the same. I'm not asking b/c I want to save a couple bucks. Just need to satisfy my curiosity and know exactly what I'm potentially buying.

Exedy makes the OEM clutch. JWT clutch is a stock clutch with a modified hub and pressure plate, so it is also a modified exedy clutch. I would assume the JWT and exedy stage 1 are very similar.

The JWT flywheel is made by fidanza. I know this because I used to run a Spec setup. I bought the 'spec' branded lightened flywheel and stage 2+ clutch. It all came nicely packeaged together from Spec. Upon installation, "JWT" is nicely labeled on the flywheel. I ended up chatting with the guys from spec and asked them where their flywheels come from. They replied that if they don't produce them, they are spec'd out from suppliers like Fidanza. So, the Spec, Fidanza, JWT, and probably others like clutchmasters all use the same fidanza produced, JWT labeled flywheel

So Spec brand flywheels are also Fidanza units, in most applications. Interesting.

Seen the F1 Racing stuff on EBay, but never heard anything about them on the forums.
