Default Mixer sound....while driving.

Hi everyone,

I've been reading through the threads regarding the loud tranny's our Z's have, and have noticed people saying that the "cement mixer" sound is normal at idle. I recently noticed that I hear it WHILE driving, which I haven't seen posted before. It's not loud, but is noticeable with windows down, or while passing by objects that reflect the sound back at me. I'm guessing this is normal, but wanted confirmation, or a recommendation to get it checked out etc...thanks

Are you sure the noise is from the transmission and not road noise. The road noise from the real wheels in these cars is quite high.

It's from the tranny. Again, I can't hear it unless I'm windows down going slowly up a street with cars, or unless I really strain, but it is there.

Yes, this is the stock flywheel. I haven't had any grinds, or tranny problems yet *knock on wood*, and apart from the sound there seems to be nothing wrong.
