Review @ 5000 Miles & Complaint Log!!!
Ok. Quick Review. The car kicks ***. I'm sure you've read all the details. NOW complaints:
I have Enthu. w/17" Wheels. #869 (1st 1000 produced)
#1 Tire Scalloping/Uneven Inner Wear: None. Zip zero nada. Will have pics up later. I have 5000 Miles, lots long road trips, some tight turns, but mostly every day driving.
#2 Pulling to the right. It doesn't. Drives stright as the day is long.
#3 Tranny. I have Man. Transmission. No grind. No hard shifting. Lots of redline shifting & downshifting without ANY issues. Do have the buzz sound at around 75MPH with steady driving. Might fix that before 30K miles are up.
#4 Rattles. None.
#5 Sunglass Holder. MINE FIT!!! Nice......
#6 Orange Peel. Not as bad as my neighbors Carrera 4 Vert. Honestly. His is worse. Not by a lot, but for $80K+, well. He doesn't even know he has it! The beauty of ignorance. Oh and out of the 80+ people that have come up to me to compliment the car as I've had it since Aug. 15, comments on the Orange Peel ZERO.
There you go.

I am more concerned about the tires. If they start wearing abnormally, please let us know.
Thanks for the good report.

ICY AND MPOWERED!!! Nice to see the both of you. Or read the both of you. The neighbors 911 is ChromeSilver, and the interior/paint finish is not that superior to the Z, in fact it is same/worse. M of course is a frequent S2ki.com member and quite knowldegable & good poster. Icy is A #1 Z33 soon-to-be. Anyway M, would more then be happy to race, but we all know what the result would be . I have beat: Stock S4, two stock Z32 TT's, and a couple other non-mentionables. Beat a Stook 45+MPH to 110 as well as older model M3 in same race. M- you are L.A. based right?

I have a very occasional clunk in the front suspension (sounds like exactly what Westpak had), but other than that, my PPW track model has been absolutely flawless. As soon as I'm convinced my dealer can find the problem and fix it, the car will be a perfect 10.

You know it's kinda funny. All the complaint posts get a million views and more replies. Here is a post of a car with Zero problems and not that many people seem to care. Oh well.

Clunk in Transmission
Haven't got my Z yet (ordered 5 November), but I did download the user's manual for study, and found that they describe the clunk noise as a normal part of the transmission adjusting itself or something (don't have the manual here at work). Is the clunk noise people are describing possibly this noise that's described in the manual?

Glad to hear that someone actually gets to enjoy their car without all the problems that so many others have. It gives me hope that my car will be just as flawless!
Thanks for the info!

There are 100 of us without problems for every one user who posts a problem. The problems are the minority.
At 3300 Miles I have none of the known problems. I have seen the grease streak a few times, but it hasn't botherd me that much. Good luck with your car. I am sure you will be more than satisfied. I know I am!!

Hey, LA-Z, I don't have as many miles, but agree with you completely.
I also agree that its sad that a good review like this doesn't seem to get as many replies.
In any case, I now have 2200 miles (in one month) gone by and have no deep concerns...
do have a little orange peel, but nothing I would consider unacceptable. No other issues so far. I LOVE THIS CAR!!!

I only have 950 miles so far, but the car is PERFECT. I have a little orange peel, but I would never have known without another Z owner showing me how to look for it. Orange peel, orange schpeel, . . . this is a GREAT car.

Overall I'd give the car a 9.5 on a 1 to 10 scale (the 1/2 point deduction would be for the paint quality). No mechanical problems or annoyances thus far.
As far as your item #5, my Carl Zeiss shades fit perfectly in the sunglass holder.

I never saw that in the manual, but if you can give me a page number that would be great. It's a very minor thing, but I do hear it occasionally when backing out of the driveway and turning the wheel, or decelerating rapidly. It doesn't affect drivability at all.
