I just bought a 07 350z a few weeks ago. when i went to pick up the car i noticed a weird smell the car had 27 mi. it smelled like new brakes or almost like clutch burning. so i drove it home and the smell didnt go away. so after putting almost 600 mi on it the smell didnt go away. so i brought it back to the dealership and the guy said that it was the cat's he said that there was fiber glass in the cat's and it had to burn out befor the smell goes away. i think he gave me a line of bull crap. at 800 mi the smell is starting to go away but i can still smell it when i get on the gas real hard. can anyone help me or give me your opinion? thanks!

 

the car is new... the smell is normal..... dont worry

 

I think you are obsessing, forget it. New cars have strange smells till every thing breaks in and burns off. Chill

 

Give it time. Everything will burn out and be well with the world again.

 

Both my OEM & my Nismo exhaust both smelled like....well...new exhausts for several hundred miles when new. Actually, love that smell - ha!

 

HHAAHAHAH..... Yeah, I love that smell too!!!

 

Just take it to one track event and the smells will go away. :P

that smell i can relate to....its sorta smells like rotten eggs.....to me at least... you get that smell from the cats.....and all that buildup....its normal but gets annoying when you got a nice broad in the passanger seat and she mentions whats that smell....
