Default Dsport does I/H/T/E test in the magazine

just read their magazine. They had an 04' Enthusiast 6MT with 30K miles on it. The baseline dyno pull was 236.42 whp 224.54 tq, low numbers because it was still runnin the factory air filter with 30k miles on it. The popcharger showed peak HP increase of 14.4 with 12-16 hp gains between 45-5200 RPM's, they said it was so high because the stock filter was worn out. Overall with the popcharger they got 250.79 whp and 238.91 w.tq. Next they added the A'PEXi N1 exhaust they got 253.37 whp and 238.91 tq. Then they added Strup headers and test pipes and got 263.21 whp and 247.82 lb ft. Overall They spent 1,800 bucks and got 23 pound feet of torque and 26 horsepower. Pretty damn good if ya ask me. Said next they're going to do a Y-Pipe and a plenum spacer, then add nitrous, said they'll have numbers from that soon.

a plenum spacer, and Utec and they should get around 280 +/-.

next thing they need is tuning, with those mods there's no way they're running optimal air/fuel ratio

yeah, the title is "test & tune" but they didnt mention tinkering with A/F ratios or anything. Dont know if they reflashed after every mod or not.

Some cars we have seen with similar mods will run pretty darn lean. You get the one good dyno run, then the stock ECU picks up knock and reverts to one of its low octane/knock timing maps and the power drops off on pulls thereafter..I had one guy come in with 15's for AF's!!

Greg i HIGHLY doubt your running rich, more than likely you are running +14:1 AFR at WOT.

Not quite sure. I know my friend said my car had a little black smoke at WOT when I let off. My tips went black in 1-2 days after the install of exhaust too

Gonna dyno with AFR in a few more weeks. My car really was rich before but it seems like its clearing up now. Even the little hesitation I had at a certain RPM range seems to be dying off as well.

edit-any luck with the headers? I couldn't find anything on the site about it

I wouldn't use that as a determination of rich or lean.

We will see about the headers tommorow. I am going to use my trusty hammer to teach that b!tch a lesson. That ought to take care of it.
