Default 2007 Z 0-60 times?

Hi.....

I did a search for 0-60, as well as looking through the top 100 questions section, and couldnt find anything. I also googled it, and found several times for the years 2003-2006, and all were very inconsistent. I think the lowest time I found was 5.3 in 04 Motor Trend, and 6.o in Consumer Guide (for a roadster I think it was?).

Has anyone come across a test for the 2007 (new engine) Z 0-60 times yet?

Im curious becuase I had an LS1 Z-28 that was in the 5.2- 5.3 range, and this car feels quicker to me.

Thanks in advance,
Bill

To me 0-60 is kind of pointless... If I'm trying to compare two cars, I'd use timeslips instead.

Have you ever ran your Camaro in the 1/4?

VeeTec ran a 13.3x in his 07 so far and hoping to get better once he gets his clutch issue straightened out. You could look for his thread and use his time slip info to get a 0-60 time with a 0-60 calculator... estimate of course.

Have to remember the magazine times for LS1 cars were crap.. I am bone stock and my 0-60 according to the calcs has been 4.7~4.8 based on 60ft and 1/8th mile times.

short answer, it's going to be right around 5 seconds plus or minus a couple tenths due to launching/driving ability.

if theyre a full half second faster in the 1/4 id say the 07' base/touring/performance will all run 5 flat-ish. Grand touring prolly 5.2 or so cause theyre weighed down with ****. convertibles probably 5.5-5.6. all that new torque helps alot.

The 07 has WAY more area under the HP curve from 5k rpm to 7k rpm. it's like a huge difference.

I personally guarantee even a sh1tty driver in a stock 07 will beat the trap speed of any 03 driver with any N/A bolt on mods with or without tuning. I'd even put money on it if I could drive the 07

think an 06' with MREV2/spacer, clutch/flywheel, and RPF1 wheels that saved 30 pounds from stock could outrun a stock 07?

For a 2007 I'd knock of a tenth or two of what we have seen previously.

I accept that the "average" 0-60 so far is around 5.6 or 5.7. That one mag got a 5.4 or something but nobody else has.

So for a 2007 I'd figure a magazine best of 5.3 or so with real world being closer to a consistent 5.6, maybe 5.5.

eh i'd say closer to 5 flat. Theyre runnin mid-low 13's in the quarter. 13.4-ish from what ive seen. all the previous models run 13.8-13.9. full half second faster in the quarter. be interesting to see the difference in the 60 foot between 07 and previous models.
