Power Steering Fluid
When I got an alignment recently the shop told me I was due for a power steering fluid flush. Ive got about 58k on my Z and I bought my Z used at 30k miles. To my knowledge it hasn't been flushed unless it was done at the 30k service.
How do I know if I need a power steer fluid flush? How often should this be done? Is there any particular brand of PS fluid that is better than others?
Thanks for any info/help.

relatively easy to drain., open one end of the ps cooler and capture the old fluid. then refill with ATF and then when the car is on, just turn wheel full lock to lock a couple of times and it should be clear of air. its a relatively low pressure system do dont over do it on the hose clamps.
oh cool, that sounds like I could do it in my driveway. How much fluid do you need? Also, no need to bleed out the air or anything, just turn the wheel after everything is done?
You can usually buy by the quart and still have some left over for future. They also sell this synthetic too. Not sure if that plays a big role in power steering oil though.

I have changed my PSF a few times now.
I had to relocate the PS cooling a for TN ST kit, and then I had to relocate it again
for the Greddy TT kit.
I am running Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF. It is dexron/mercon rated! 1 quart is all you need, and you''l have about half of bottle left over. You can buy it at Advance Auto Parts; they keep it in stock.
