Default Oil level on dipstick

If it's on the site somewhere I missed it. How many quarts down are you when the level is 1/4 inch down on the dipstick, half way, at the low mark etc? I've got about 500 miles on this oil change and it's down about a quarter inch down.

1/4 below L = 1qt.
mid way between H/L = ok
L= 1/2qt.

Thanks. That doesn't seem too bad. I've been checking it only when cold, and it's gotten really cold hear lately. I'm guessing that a 30 degree outside air temp change might move the level some.

No, it will not effect oil lev @ 30 degrees. Check your levs when the vehicle is on even ground and wait about 15 minutes or so, so the oil can drain down into the oil pan. This will give you an accurate reading.
