Smile 305 hp NA !!

in case you dont know the car https://my350z.com/forum/na-builds/255966-performance-factorys-15-to-1-compression-all-motor-project.html

finally hit 300 today with the little project. i threw on some cheap TS headers and retuned it a bit and had many many consistent runs between 300-305.

there is definitely some crazy cam timing issue going on by the graphs, i can not straighten out some dips and hills in the graph no matter what i throw at it

we then did some crazy things, we tried out a Injen cold air, it lost 8 hp, we tried attaching the maf right to the TB, lost 15 hp, tried doing all kinds of crazy things and the stock air box still makes more power than anything we did.

now we are going to try to port the plenum neck and possibly the throttle body.
not easy to make power with these things NA. cams soon with more dynos.

if anyone wants to throw something on the car and dyno it, feel free to send it to me and i will give an unbiased opinion. hell if it makes power, i will pay you for it.

thanks everyone!!

remember, these numbers cant be changed , altered or fabricated. its a Dynojet 224. this is the standard correction that we use on everything and SAE it made 298 exactly. tried everything to get 2 more out of it but wasnt happening with this set up.

Crazy, but you need better headers. Why do such a crazy block and NA build without the headers and most importantly cams to go with it?

oh i know man, believe me, there is nothing you could tell me that i dont know about this thing, sitting on the dyno forever gives you a lot of thinking time. different cams?? yes, but figuring out what exactly the specs should be. well... thats a different story

thing is, headers would cost me 1000 easy to do some custom manifolds, possibly to lose power. i am just playing with it and adding onto it as i go. i have a tendency to just go all out and i am trying to get this one to last so i can figure some stuff out.

i have another set of headers that are being shipped here from tony at motordyne engineering!! thanks tony, i am taking those and going to step them up into a nice collector and see what happens. i dont have the time or money to dump into it right now.

brian crower is grinding me some custom cams for it later on this week. still not sure on what specs i should go with. little too much duration and lift and will be the last time i rev past 8000 rpms. i am actually trying to keep this one together.

Silly question but you said you keep the stock airbox, with or without the power duct and does it even make a difference on the dyno? Nice numbers btw...
