Default Central 20 - 3.9 Final Drive Installed

Ordered from Z-1 Performance and received the 3.9 drive last week. Had it installed and picked up my car. Feels great, just like stock but will rev much easier in every gear. On the freeway I could tell that my RPMS were a little higher ~10% than before, 6th gear is much more usable now. I'm sure gas mileage will go down a bit, but whatever it sucked to begin with so no big deal. I'd recommend this mod to anyone with a 6MT. The car certainly FEELS faster to me, which in the end is all I really care about.

The only question now is what I should do next, I've got the MREV2 + Spacer, the 3.9 gears, and z-tube intake. From what I've read on these forums it doesn't look like there is a whole lot I could do improve my car's performance without getting crazy or expensive. Will probably just do sway bars, intake (just for kicks) and call it a day.

I do not believe this mod affects the speedo. Speed is supposed to be taken from the wheels - someone correct me if i'm wrong here.

I understand the speedo is not affected as well. Some folks have trouble with cruise control, though... But I think only at speeds in excess of 70 mph.

Tested this, my cruise control was working fine...maybe this is a problem only for 5AT guys who swap?

the speedo has nothing to do with the gears...it will be unaffected

only auto guys get the cruise issue and even then, it's not every car for some reason

There's like 10,000 threads about this but N/A mods cost $$$ of money for little gains. Bite the bullet and go FI. You won't regret it.

well if u go f/i, u better ditch that 3.9 then. 1st and 2nd gear will become useless pretty quick. although i hear good things about the 3.9 + superchargers.

Yeah, plus some of us unfortunate folks live in CA with the environmentalists. Therefor, most FI is illegal (except Stillen SC), but that won't work yet for us 07 owners. Getting caught with FI in CA can mean having your car impounded. NA is pretty stealth so If I can build a 350 WHP engine with the HR that'll pass smog, I'm all for it.
