VRT Building VQ for Sport Compact Car!
I'm sure they'll turn it into a lesson for the average joe about doing your research first, which ironically, they didn't do. This forum and it's member's probably saved them. Really curious how far along they got with the build since by the time we read their intentions they may have already been a month and a half into it.
You know whats funny (or maybe not
) I donated a plenum spacer kit to the SCC build.
Not a big deal, but still. It's a ripoff.
Mr.A$$ probably didn't even open the package and just sold it for cash.
I shipped the package directly to SCC but I think they may have already forwarded it to VRT.
----
Sadly, there are many others that have been ripped off hard that we don't hear about here on the boards.

That build was "Just one" of the number of issues JWT had with VRT as they gave them a complete 700BB TT kit for that car that in the end never was completed and nothing was ever returned.
Just read the next installment of SCC's Project 350Z and no mention of having any issues with VRT. In fact the only mentions are that they changed their name from Violent Racing Technologies to Verified Racing Technologies and they are listed as the engine assembler in the sources section.
Unless it's mentioned somewhere else in the rag or they plan to cover it in the next installment this is very disappointing from an editor-in-chief who, when he took over, promised to always give it to the reader straight regardless of advertising revenue or sponsorship deals.
Edit: Jay covers it in Appendix J, appropriately titled "Getting Burned." Good job SCC.

hahaha...in the article Jay talks about being sent pictures of their car in front of Casa De Alvarez...must have been from this thread: https://my350z.com/forum/forced-induction/291309-pics-of-vrt-working-out-of-mikes-house.html

It has been a while since I checked the thread out...but SCC Magazine is pretty disapointed with VRT...
Well on the good news...Steve Mitchell of M-Workz, also Nissan Motorsports and JWT will be completing the Z.
After reading the "Getting Burned" article I agree with Jay Chen...customers should gang up on Mr.A and take legal action.

Get the .64AR housings, dont get the .86 housing they are too lagy. I just dynoed my car with 608rwhp with the 700bb's + .64 housings, and they spool just/better then my old setup which was the JWT 530BB. Just a tought.

NOTE:
Because this is a magazine article, i haven't been free to discuss all of the details. I can tell you we are targetting a solid 550 whp and similiar torque. We will need at least those kind of numbers to compete eventhough the stock new ZO6 has only 479 FT/LBS and around 440 WHP.
Important:
The ZO6 gearbox is amazing as well as its brakes and suspension. Not sure if any of you have seen the underbody of this car, it truely is a work of art and is design to create downforce from the bottom of the car like Ferraris, Lambos, GT3s, and Bugattis.
No matter what parts we put on the 350Z it will never have the aero engineering the ZO6 has...Never...brake ducting, carbo undercarrige...a work of art...
Its going to be a fun fight though. Not the first time we have built cars targetting to compete at the highest level. Remember the RUN WITH THE FERRARI THREAD...That was fun.
Limited Information:
Please be patient with my lack of infomation:
Basics (subject to change)
Custom 8.5:1 JE Pistons
Pauter Rods
JWT Custom cams
JWT Valve springs
JWT BB700 tt kit
VRT Coilovers Suspension
VRT Camber kit
Enkei 9.5 and 10.5 rims
NTO1s 275/315/30/18
Koyo radiator
Brembo upgraded brakes
Eibach Sways
Many more mods to come...Will have to wait for more information from Jay Chen at Sports Compact.
Take Care.

i dont think they should have run the project installment with vrt, cause not everybody will read "appendix j" and this is still publicity for them. they should have at least mentioned to see appendix j for the full story.
