ATTN NISSAN Service: transmissions warranty question
Does Nissan rebuild manual transmission, and resell them??
I have a VIN off a transmission, and the guy claims that its brand new.
But the VIN has history of being taken out at 1500 miles form a '06 350Z
SO, DOES NISSAN REUSE THE BELL HOUSING? AND LEAVE THE VIN IN TACT?

if you ever go in for a tranny replacement, you will get a refurbished one from another car, not a brand new one. That's why I'm sticking with my tranny for now even though 3rd gear grinds every 30-40 shifts into 3rd. I figure, my problem isn't major enough to risk getting one that's worse

hmmmm. I see...
well, i'm getting one this weekend.. according to the vin, its from Arizona..
and it was taken out of an 06 at 1500 miles. (noise : whining)
how the hell did it get to Maryland.?
well, perhaps it got here in Maryland because its a refurbished one... or somehow it was stolen from the dealership and brought over here..
the seller is letting me install and test it before paying him the remaining 2/3rds of what I owe him..

some nissan parts employees have told me that they have never seen a remanufactured manual transmission, some have told me that they keep the bell housing with the VIN and send it back out..

hmm... looks like i'm being taken in for a ride.
well, since i have it in my possession, and already paid him $200
if it doesn't work well after installing it, I won't pay him the rest.
