Default Sticking Clutch - 350Z/G35

Last night at Houston Raceway Park, there were several of us that meet up. My 06350Z and an 06 G35, after say 8 passes we both experienced our clutch pedal getting stuck down, and had to use our left foot to pull it back.

Anyone else ever had this problem, and what could be the cause of this?

Thanks in advance

Yeah, its caused by the fluid over heating. The newer Z's are more resistant to this. My 05 did it all the time, and after my tranny/clutch were swapped out for the newer edition, it never did it again. It got soft, but didnt stick.

Thanks, both of these are 06 models; mine has 19,000 miles, her G35 has 8,000 miles. Makes sense though.

Thanks again

Crazy, I was at the track last night too and the same exact thing happened to me on my 2nd run. I didn't know what was up so i didn't run after that. I was in the PPW Z by the way. You and that yellow Z had some pretty good runs there.

Weird. On my first trip ever to the drag strip, I never let my car rest from the moment I got out of my garage until I pulled it back in. I was hotlapping after another consistently and the only rest my car got was just staying at idle in the lines. I've never experienced any sort of "clutch sticking." BTW, my track is almost 88 miles away from my house. I guess I'm lucky.

Hey I remember you. Yeah after the 1st time; I raced that 260 Z, I then ran again and was ready with my foot. Raced Keven (the yellow Z) and it stuck but pulled it back.

It's never done that before. I wonder if the weather/atmosphere, had something to do with that?

I've ran 12 to 14 times in a night before and it's never happened.

Let's all try and hook up again. Just pm me here when ever you want to go out and lets go racing :-)

Hi Chris, see my last post. I'm wondering if the weather had something to do with that?

I ran 12 times last night, most were in the high 13's, 2 in the 17's (missed 3rd, and stuck clutch) and a few 14's

I'm actually getting better at this but my 60' times are still 2.1 to 2.3.

I guess that's about as good as I'm gonna do. You should have seen the 240Z run in the 11's last night, wow....

I doubt it's the weather. I started racing last July-ish. So I've been in all different kinds of weather, including drizzle and slight sleet to scorching weather.

As for your 60', just keep practicing. However, if your 60' doesn't improve then you're not doing it right. Change it up a bit to see different results and find what works best for you.
