Default Engine Strength??

Hello,

I have been considering buying a Nissan 350Z for some time, and will probably end up buying one this weekend. But then i started asking people about it, and i have heard some mixed reviews. But one thing that had me concerned was that a few people were saying that the VQ35DE Engine is pretty weak, and cant handle much, and that it is even more weaker when boring it, even if you do sleeve it.

Can anyone prove/disprove this statement? because i do want to buy this car and mod it, but i would also like a reliable engine that wont fail on me after only a few mods (such as Boring and Stroking)...

Maybe you should think about a car that comes factory turbo'd like an EVO or an STI. Those seem to be what all the kids are driving nowadays.
