Default 2007 Trannmission issue.

i got 2 questions guys. I bought my 07 z last tues and so far i love it but i have 2 questions about the clutch.

1) When i first start up the car when its cold there a rattling sound. Is this normal or is there a problem?

2)Also theres a sound when the clutch is in neutral its not a rattling sound but just a unusual sound. But when i press the clutch down it goes away. Is this normal or is it a problem.

3) I have not gotten the typical problems from the 07 with the 6th gear grinds , or the clutch stickin to the floor but just wanna make sure the top 2 problems are normal.

um guys it seems like #3... means he DOESN'T have the 6th gear grind, or stuck clutch problem... he's only worried about the first 2? and the first two are just clutch rattling issues and that's completely normal.

You should have bought an AT . . . you wouldn't have any of these problems.

I think I have the same sounds coming from my clutch. I didn't think it was "normal" but since everyone seems to have it, so be it. It drives just fine, so whatever...I'll drive it till it breaks or gives me a sure sign something is wrong. That's when I'll be forced to waste my time at the dealer...not a minute sooner. Lol.

I have the exact same issue as,
"2)Also theres a sound when the clutch is in neutral its not a rattling sound but just a unusual sound. But when i press the clutch down it goes away. Is this normal or is it a problem."

I noticed it and worried for a few, I wasnt sure but figured it was normal. Has been doing it since I got it.

1: yes
2: yes
3: perfectly normal, lots of cars/bikes do it

a friend of mine has a z28 that does it, its much louder. he has a slp flywheel too, and the clutch is pretty new. he actually holds the clutch a lot because he hates the noise, but i wouldnt do that all the time. the owners man. actually says not to hold the clutch excessively.

I would say #1 and #2 are perfectly normal.... and if you want to pre-empt the clutch sticking problem, try flushing the brake/clutch fluid with a higher temp fluid like motul rbf600

My 07 makes the same rattle noise, I took it to the dealer, they agreed to just replace the whole transmission. It is a problem, do not just deal with it. Nissan needs to take care of the problem. If you get any problems from the dealer, fight them for it. do not just deal with it. Search for the other thread on here that goes into this problem in more detail. I am glad they are replacing the trans, but they said that over a month ago after going back and forth with the dealer about what exactly the problem is.

Stronger manual transmissions do make a little bit of noise, it's perfectly normal.
Mine does it, every other Z I've heard does it, 6-spd Supras do it, etc...

I don't even notice it anymore.
