Default Unorthodox Racing!

UR UD Pully's are in, they are no longer "TBA " and for those with MT's looks like the lightweight flywheel is ready too.

I ordered the Blue SS Set

10% off Pullies for May, shipping seems steep.

The crank alone on my LS1 dropped me 1 tenth.

Thumbs up

BTW,

Here is a Dyno chart of the 3.5L in an 02 Maxima wit the pullies.

http://www.unorthodoxracing.com/dyno_maxima_2002.html

9HP
11TQ

Over rated? Probably, proven mod? Definately.

It frees up HP and actually increases engine longevity.

I will probably switch to a 160 or 180 stat due to the water pump pully.

Anyone know what the stock stat is?

probably this is a dumb question but, what is a stat?

the gains on those pulleys are solid, what is the price for those?

gotta see the results on the track.

I could run over there and pick one up for ya and then ship it out to you!! They supposidly have a 350Z that they are going to dyno. I asked if I could be there when they dynoed it but they haven't responded to me. I actually think it is that dealer that posts on here (Smithtown Nissan). Let us know how it goes. I was thinking of getting this for my car, but was a little skeptical about it. It seemed almost too good to be true. The other thing that I thought was strange was that they dynoed the car MONTHS apart. If it was done the same day, it would be more believable. I checked the weather on those days and the first day it was somewhere around 40* and low humidity (about 30%). On the second day, it was 70* out and mild humidity (~60%). So if these mods were done correctly, there should be even LARGER gains then they posted. Let us know what you find out.

I would be down for that you go buy and ship me deal for real man.

I already ordered, maybe I should call them.

Sorry by stat I meant thermostat.

The water pump pully will cause your car to run slightly hotter so opening up the thermostat sooner seems like a good idea to me.

I had ASP pullies on my Z28 and FireHawk (crank under alt over) and both were Dyno and Track proven!

To me this is one of those MUST DO mods, it just makes sense.

I need to call them and see if they are on back order already!

MaxHax, are you going to do a before and after dyno? I am curious to see the difference between to stock to aftermarket since the stock are already light compared to other Nissans.

Default Just called them

Shawn the sales rep is on vaction till May 9th.

Trying to get a call back or email from "Scott" about order status.

Yeah this would be a good situation for before and after Dyno but there are other positives too such as less wear and tear on the engine less stress I should say.

Dyno's don't really help much in 1/4 mile times.

I saw a guy gain 19RWHP and his 1/4 ET stay the same.

I have saw others with less RWHP on the Dyno beat the other car too.

With my 100 shot I am sure my TQ is well over 300+ to me it's just a combination of everything that gets you where you want to be and I defined my road map from day one, this was one of them.

My big thing with these, are the harmonic dampners...

Last time I was in a car with aftermarket pulleys without dampers it just had a ugly shudder...

How are these feeling?

How difficult are these to install?

And what would a performance shop charge for something like this?

Default It's easy

About an hour labor for all 3.

I'm gonna do mine myself (with help from a friend.)

My question is the belts. Last time I switched pullies I needed new belts.

I didn't see any belts listed at thier site.

Where are we gonna get belts?

I'm hoping the stock belts will fit nicely. If not, oh well, I'll just sit on it until I get some belts.

Hax... once they are installed let me know how the vibration is at high speeds. I would love to do a set, but i'm concerned about vibration. I spend a decent amount of time above 100mph.

Can someone please explain what these are and why, if indeed they increase performance while reducing engine strain, Nissan didn't design them in? What are the compromises?
Mika
