Ok so i get the Z home today and put it in the garage, i back it out to clean it and i seen an "oil like substance" I crawled under the car and looked around. its not coming from the oil pan, but it looks like its coming from the front of the tranny!? its a dark oily substance, maybe gear lube? or, maybe engine oil? the oil on the dip stick shows its a little low.. Anyones help would be very much appreciated! thanks guys!

smell it! engine oil and tranny oil smell very different, and if you are acustomed to working on cars you can idenitify most fluids by color and smell.

 

Is it thin or thick . Auto or manuel .

 

I don't know what year yous is but mine is 05 . Last week I looked under it and saw oil leaking, hard to tell where with the plastic under engine. So went in to a friends shop changed the oil and looked . All my big problem was is ME not getting the dip stick in the last click.

 

its thick, i have03 touring 6speed, it dont smell like engine oil really, its DARK/greyish oil..
