who makes bullet proof 6 speed tranny's for Z's. The stock trans is prone for problems in the long run. Why does the Z have one of the weakest trannies when compared to others?

 

Who says we have weak tranny. I know the 03-05 tranny's had issues with the synchros but after that I think they are pretty strong.

I have no idea what you're talking about as far as having a weak tranny.

 

Z's have probly one of the strongest stock trannies

Weak? No. Loud and clumsy at times? Yes.

 

got an 03'; no problems...

 

100k miles and still smooth.

 

Well I can't say I havn't had any problems with my 03. My synchros just went out at 60k with 30k of those turbo charged. If you knew how I drive you might understand why also.

 

Its week compared to a getrag or any american built 6-speed

our stock tranny is one of the beefest (if that is a word) tranny out there!!
unless if you have a 800hp or more then that is a different question!!

Or an alternative might be (if they any one makes them) would just be new heavier duty internals.

 

Is there a such thing as bullet proof trannies. I'm sure any tranny can be destoyed.

Oh and that thread that bigbri did compared side by side the two trannies, ours and the getrag. All the gears looked beafier in the nissan tranny. Now compared to american trannies, I don't know.

Hey skeet96707 what exactly are you running that would need a stronger tranny. By the way Sam at GTMotorsports was designing something for our transmissions to make them stronger. Might want to check with them.
