I just know where my clutch engages and shift based on that. Seems like a good mod though for people that don't like the way the pedal feels.

Makes it so you don't have to push the clutch as far down as you had to before i.e. long clutch pedal feel stock.

so what is it that the D wolf kit sells? exactly the same as this? I just did this mod and realized that the nail glide is a bit big and my 04 clutch assembly doesn't look exactly like the picture, so I only used it for the part that was circled in red. It did improve the clutch where I don't have to step all the way down. Maybe the G's assembly is slightly different than that of the Z?

actually guys,

anybody with base model have high clutch engagement problem???

I have a touring and I have the problem. this weekend, i tried driving with the VDC off for the first time and that seems to fix the high clutch problem. I mean, the distance i have to depress the clutch is still the same, but the engagement point seems to be much lower with VDC off.

e.g.

With VDC on: i have to let the clutch almost 70 to 80% up before i gas. if i gas before that, i'll just rev. and the car doesn't go forward.

With VDC off: i can gas much soon and the car moves forward. (about 40%-60%) Also, the transition between 1st and 2nd is much smoother.

If any enthusiast, touring, or GT owners hates the high clutch problem or think the tranny is too rough in the lower gears, i recommend try driving with VDC or TCS off. It makes a difference to me.

I have a 06 base and the clutch engagement is high. I adjusted it several months ago to the point where it was sticking in the last 1 or so inch of travel. I ended up having to adjust it again because it got high.

Not a big fan of this clutch, the engagement point seems to vary daily dependent on temperature and how hard I get on the car.

I will agree that it feels a little smoother with engagement with the VDC off.
I started doing this a week or two ago.
The clutch travel sucks big time in this car though.

Hate to ruin it, but that mod has absolutely NOTHING to do with the engagement point of the clutch. All it does is limit the amount of travel so that you can't press the pedal to the floor. The only way to adjust the actual engagement point is by adjusting the threaded rod that's attached to the clutch pedal.

I have to admit I never looked at the link, I assumed the person adjusted the clutch like I did with the rod attached to the clutch.

Its all wording in the end. The D-Wolf kit says is adjusts the engagement point also, but its pretty much the same thing as this

this is a bit weird and all, but my sweet spot for my 1st gear was always 1500 rpm. but this morning i got a new tranny installed (only took them 2 hours at the stealership) and now at 1500 rpm my car feels like its launching. and my clutch is MUCH easier to push down (not nearly as hard as it used 2 be) and the sweet spot is at like 1k rpm now for 1st gear... its kinda wierd... (sorry if this is a thread jack)

My point was that the wording is wrong. After installing my JWT clutch/flywheel, I had to adjust the actual engagement point. If I were a noob, and I tried to use this method, I would've been screwed.
