I'd like to look into a 3.1x gearset for my FI 5AT... Anyone got any links on that particular ratio?

Anyone know if the Quaife will fit in that Pathfinder R200 diff?

 

What else do I need to buy to swap out my gears? I just purchased the nismo finned cover and the gears so far.

 

I just ordered the nismo lsd, finned cover, 4.083 gears. From talking to the guys at MyNismo.com any transmission shop should be able to supply a crush washer for the pinion. Everything else is reusable.

 

you might want to check with the installer to be sure they have the crush washer... I took my car today to have 3.7 installed and had to go to Nissan to pick up one... fortunately Performance Nissan had one in stock - most dealers won’t and you'll need to order it. Technosquare did my install... they had plenty of shims, but no crush washer.

 

I have mynismo sending me the "Pinion Spacer Housing", which I believe is the crush washer?

 

yes... that's how it is described on the invoice I received - actually it says “SPACER-HOU”... it's part number 38165-0C020

some people call it crush washer, crush sleeve, crush spacer... you have the right part.

 

Bingo, that's it. They didn't have it today, but are getting some Friday, so he's having it 2 day shipped to me (which even USPS priority will do since I'm one state north of them).

Can't wait to get all the goodies on... I have the test pipes/exhaust/nismo lsd/4.083 gears all ordered and on the way. It'll be a whole new car

Rjn motorsport near to where i live has a 4.1 FD instaled on the race preped 350z!! must be sick !

 

when you get a chance post some rpm vs. speed numbers.

 

over 3500rpm at 80mph for sure!... 1st couple of gears are gonna wind out quick! But it'll be fun

Any install news yet??? Just ordere the 4.083 ring & pinion, the NISMO diff cover, and assorted hardware for install later this month if it shows up in time . Also have the FI high flow cats and Fujita intakes on the way... Gonna be a fun month!

Hey man I have the 4.083 rear diff w/ a cusco RS LSD and it was an amazing upgrade... the gas mileage isn't that bad... about 1.5 less.... and the rpms went upon average 400 per gear...but the acceleration is amazing... have fun with it!!

 

+1 on the gears and cusco RS LSD. it feels great! at 80mph, i am at 3.5k RPM even. the car is a different vehicle now, but in a good way. i broke it in at the track, and no problems except for slight chatter (and a clunk). changed the oil after i got home (at around 750 miels), and it was like black water! put in fresh oil, and all noise and jitteriness went away. i am very happy with the performance and acceleration. hey Blck350z, do you have slight gear whine? i do, but only on deceleration and it's very slight and doesn't last too long.

 

OT but do you know why they dropped out of FIA GT?
