k. thanks. I will be receiving my new valve cover gaskets and gaskets for the coolant delete mod tomorrow. If the weather permits, ill be doing this project towards the end of the week. Did you use RTV when reinstalling the VCs? Any tips on the removal/reinstall?

i only used rtv where nissan tells you to put it. the hardest part about getting the covers back on is keeping the gaskets in place. they want to fall out of the covers!!!

would it be wise to do random dots of rtv around the VC where the gasket mates so that it can hold the gasket in place?

Valve covers look super, Andrew...

Not sure how you found out about "BullDog adhesion promoter" but it looks like it works well...

How's the new lift doing?

hmmm...I found Bulldog years ago when I used to do custom car audio for a living.

The lift is good.....all of a sudden, I have all sorts of "friends" coming out of the woodwork who just happen to need a lift. maybe I should charge "lift" time like shops charge for "dyno" time.

Hahaha... I'm not surprised about that...

I wouldn't feel bad about asking people to kick in a few bucks... No one gave it to you and I suspect the rent isn't free... I'd be happy to kick in a few bucks if one of my friends had a lift.

ok. bought the bulldog and duplicolor ceramic high heat engine paint and their clear coat. How many coats of bulldog and how many coates of color? Will the paint chip when torquing down the bolts? I was thinking of just taping off the tops where the bolts go to prevent this from happening.

you should only need a single coat of the bulldog.

as far as paint goes, I always go with light coats so you don't get runs. so, I can't really tell you how many coats you need. Use your discretion......just make sure you have enough paint to get complete coverage and that the dark valve cover color doesn't come through the paint.
on the clear, that one is up to you also. I did several light coats of the clear .....and finished with a nice heavy coat.

I had no porblem with the paint cracking at the bolt holes. these bolts aren't on there with alot of torque.....pretty light actually. you could tape off the hole if you want, but it isn't necessary.
