Default car wont start

Today i washed my car and when i got back in, it wouldnt start. I waited for a couple minutes then it started right up. I drove it some more and it ran perfect, killed it a couple times and started back up. Then i went to get fuel and afterwards it wouldnt start for a few minutes again. Each time it wouldnt start, the engine would turn over but wouldnt start. Any help would extremely appreciated

i just washed the exterior, i popped the hood after and wiped down the plastic pieces on the base of the windshield and wiped everything down in the bay, a few things looked a little wet just from the water leaking in but not bad at all. Could getting water in the exhaust do it maybe?

i think i figured it out. my inner finder on my drivers side front is missing and so it leaves my intake filter extremely open from the outside so it probably took in some water. you think that could make my car not start?

Hmm, sounds to me like maybe your air filter is clogged or wet. Always cover the filter/intake tube whenever cleaning the engine bay.

i think its because the air filter got wet im missing the finder liner so my air filter is in direct line when im cleaning the wheel wells, im not wash it again until i get my inner finder. Im going to replace the air filter this week
