Quaife ATB is hands down the best Diff I have used or experienced.

I personally purchased the Base model known that I would immediatly upgrade the LSD, HID's and Seats. I have drive without differential, to using the Vlsd, to Nismo LSD, to the Quaife, and I can personally say that the difference is night and day.

With the Quaife LSD there are no audible noises, or pops when parking or taking slow turns like the Nismo LSD.

The biggest reason I went with the Quaife wasn't just because it is one of the best LSD, but rather the life time warranty really sold me. It is also a huge plus for Base Model owners since it is a direct drop in LSD for us. So when compared to something like the Cusco where you will need to buy Axle stubs, this is probably equal in price when it comes down to it.

Again this is all subjective to how much you have to spend. The VLSD is the cheapest, followed by the Nismo, then either the Cusco with axle stubs or the Quaife.

the Nismo is also sold (if new) with a whole kit to install unlike all the others (quaife is drop in)

and also, if you are staying N/A you should get the 3.9 gearset at the same time!

Do any of the sponsors on here sell the Quaife. I have only heard good things about them; both in the Z and in many other cars. That is probably what I will be going with since it will just bolt in. Maybe I can get some Cincinnati guys to help me and we can do it some weekend at there place (downtown apartment, no place to work). ((Pizza and beer provided if anyone wants to step up and volunteer

The best price I found was from UltraRev... there is/was an online coupon by typing in "SALE"... saves/saved 5%... their regular price was cheaper than anywhere I found (even without the 5% off)... they don’t add tax so even with shipping it was about $150-$200 less then anything else I found...

Is this something that me and a couple guys could do in a garage and some tools? Or is this recommended for professional install?

we offer the Quaife if you need it

Install wise, really depends on the level of your experience I guess. When I had my Cusco installed, I chose to let a tranny shop do it

If want to do a pumpkin swap with another 04 Z w/ VLSD then you won't need axle stubs and can be installed yourself. You will need a lift b/c those pumpkins are a good hundred pounds or so. If you want to go with Quaife or Nismo then get skilled mechanic to do it.

I have the Kaaz 1.5 way. I personally love it. I have it at 60% locking and its simply a dream. Power distribution is great, its wonderful for drifting and track. Couldnt be happier. The only thing is that I'm still using base axle stubs and I had to disconnect the speed sensors because abs kept going off. But who needs abs anyways, right?

I got my car back from Z car garage yesterday with the nismo lsd and 3.9fd. It's fantastic. The nismo lsd really isn't bad at all. I was expecting it to be really noisy but theres only the occasional pop at low speeds and a bit a of gear whir.

I just picked up an 07 base a few weeks ago. I am looking into getting an LSD but before i do i just wanted some feedback on dealership warranty experiences with these things. Is this something that they will try to automatically void my powertrain warranty for, or is this something that they dont fuss about??

The quaife is supposed to be quiet. The Nismo is supposed to be annoying but I have one I don't think its that bad at all.

you definitely either misheard, or you need to stop listening to whomever told you that - it's the complete opposite in fact, Quaife is the quietest of ALL the diffs, without exception

Nismo is the loud and annoying one. I love it though.
