What's the "coolant bypass mod"?
I used several different search terms and didn't come up with anything on a "coolant bypass" mod? I don't have any cooling issues, but I'm curious. Can anybody offer a quick explanation, or tell me how to better utilize the search function(grrrrrr!)
Basically a valve with a switch that blocks coolant from flowing into your throttle body to prevent it from heating the air. Nissan put it there to prevent the TB from freezing in winter...
Here you go, check this link out. I hope this is what your referring to?

So, on the one hand we're talking about routing coolant around the throttle-body, and Sharifs' solution sounds more like an internal modification. For $275.00 it must be more than a simple bypass...
Have a lot of boosted-Z owners done this? Back when my motor was built, the cooling solution was supposed to be a Koyo radiator and a Nismo thermostat. If it's not getting hot under high boost, is anything else warranted?

That completely explains it and I can say I learned something today. I love the new discoveries that have developed as people gain more experience with these motors. Hats off to Doug for discovering it and Sharif for posting it

There are two different mods... The block mod is what I assume links were posted for. This is supposed to aid in cooling the motor. The other mod is the "coolant bypass" that bypasses the coolant around the plenum. This keeps the plenum cooler. The plenum bypass is the mod I was referring to in my previous post.
